Guys, i bought the game 18 days ago, ad day 1. I've just seen the intro video, and i couldn't ever get past it. I spent money just for the video. I got theese [censored] 3 usless cds, and i dont have really any idea how to get the game work. I tried everything. Nobody answers me. Tried to communicate directly with bethesda, sending them multiple mails. They never answered to me. I mean, it's REALLY not correct. What the hell is wrong with you? We are customers. We gave you our money. Why u still not answering our questions? Im just asking for information, for wich are your updates. Give us something to let us know that you are working on this issues. Bethesda, WAKE UP.

Guys i really tried everything.
Reinstalled several times.
Used every type of drivers for AMD: Preview 2, preview 3 and some before
Used atioglxx.dll
set lots of commands ain the steam options for start
set several types of configurations in CCC

Nothing worked for me. I could run any game i've tried till yet with my pc, just Rage doesn't work.

Ah, forgot system: got Windows 7 Ultimate edition 64 bit

Try turning off Hyperthreading in the BIOS.

You are not alone with your problem. It's the same thing here. Probably the drivers just do not work with the HD 5830. I have nearly the same setup (AMD CPU instead of Intel) and nothing worked for me so far.
Somewhere on this forum is already a thread about people having problems especially with the HD 5830. I guess you too have this issue, where the game turns down to 0 frames per second, after you saw the intro video...

With Battlefield 3 out in the near future and Skyrim to arrive, I just wait, until both id/Bethesda and ATI release new patches / drivers. I'm done with changing all the configs, drivers, etc.

Not sure this is a good idea, I spent 6 days working on my Rage so I could play it and never had to do anything in the bios. I'm not saying he is wrong just don't play in Bios unless you know fully wtf you are doing and in truth you should not have to touch bios to play RAGE or any game.
When you put in a new driver did you remove old one and then run driver sweeper with a reboot after you did each step ? Also stay away from ati driver version 3 its not working correct. This is the page I used to fix my Rage 12th post in the topic. Good luck to you !

I don't see why people can't play RAGE . I hav'nt had a problem since day 1 on a Nvidia/Intel Computer or a ATI/AMD Computer. Update Chipset drivers , GPU drivers, and is all I can Say.

It's not the HT , my pc has HT on and it's fine.

If you're overclocking anything, stop it now. Roll back to standard clock speeds and try it. It doesn't matter if "it works with everything else", if stopping overclocking fixes it then overclocking was the cause.

If you're forcing AA or AF in your card's control panel, don't. Set them back to "application controlled" or "let the application decide" or equivalent, and use the in-game menus instead.

If neither of those work, or neither of those apply, come back and let us know.

Never overclocked or tried to. For what about AA or AF i changed them due to some other people's advices to try get the game functional, anyway these changes never worked for me, so i turned them back to default.

Turning Hyperthreading off is what got it running on my PC.

It's definitly the amd products you have. I've got nvidia/intel setup, 8 threads, everything overclocked, 1 issue - the graphics aren't quite where they should be even after all the tweaks.

Hi guys 1st post for me here.

I been reading these forums a bit and noticed ppl having bad times. If the game doesnt work on your system then you have the right to take it back under the sales of good act (fit for purpose). I dont know how wide spread the game breaking bugs are, but you should NOT have to tweak any game files just to beable to play a game you purchased.
Seems like ATI users have biggest problems, but its no excuse for the company, im now very worried how skyrim will turn out.
I recently built a new pc and bought this game from a shop (not steam)..... I have the game running everything on max graphics, NO TWEAKS, i dont crash and i have fine frame rate...
My specs are...

NOT OVERCLOCKED
AMD phenom 2 x6 1075t 3.0 ghz
Gigabyte 990fxa ud3 mobo
MSI R6870 1g ddr5
Corsair 4gb XMS3 dual channel 1666

Now then on 11.9 drivers i had funny color artifacts on screen, but i had fine frame rate and no crash....
On 11.10 preview 3 drivers i had moments where evrything would lag and then pc imeiditly crashed.....
Then i tried 11.10 PREVIEW 2 drivers and everything runs fine......

I have the same card as you try the .dll from the preview driver from 11.8. This is a specific driver issue for the 5830 cards. It got my game running.
