i have a quick question guys... if your not high lvl there might be spoilers so if you cannot help out a high level enchanter do not read onn

first of all my smithing is at lvl 90 and my plan is to make very strong armor and enchant it to benefit my mage... now my question is... if i were to dissenchant my arch mages robes would i be able to put the same exact enchants from my robe on chest armor??? the arch mages robe has 3 diff. enchants would all 3 carry onn? and to make it all pretty simple can you just explain how enchanting works then cuz honestly im very confused when it comes to the matter... my enchanting is lvl 50 but i have no allocated any points yet since im lost on the topic... thanks ahead of time =)

You can't disenchant the archmage robes.

If you have the perk for 100 enchanting, you could pick two of the enchants from the archmage robes (available individually) to put on your armor.

disenchant armor that has mage friendly enchants on it. Namely increase X magic style by %, increase overall magicka, and magicka regen.

Never tried, but it wouldnt matter since it gives an effect that you cant enchant with (lower all spell magicka costs), and you cant place more than two enchants on anything, so there's no reason to disenchant in the first place. and that's coming from someone who wishes they could, since I'm not a fan of how the archmages robe even looks. Gave it to Erandur on my Pure (good) Breton Mage build.

I have tried and you definately can NOT disenchant arch mage robes. I had the exact same idea you did but the robes weren't on the list of things to disenchant.

You can disenchant 'Mage' type robes, just not the "Arch Mage" robes you get when you become arch mage. So you can dis-enchant, say, black robes with a -magica needed for destruction and put that on armor.

No, you learn the Enchant. Certain enchants can only go on certain pieces, but just because you learned it from a chest piece doesn't mean you can't use it on say a necklace. As for the -magica stuff, I've found one or two in my travels, but they are more rare. just keep exploring and you'll come across some. They may be gloves or hats or whatnot as well.

Only way I know of is to visit the table and see what shows up. I don't know of any other way.

the more powerful the gem, the more powerful the enchant. it is a combination between gem strength, perks and skill that determines the strength of the enchant.
