Controls with touchpad virtually unusable

I have a brand new ASUS laptop PC running windows 7 which I just purchased three weeks ago, and on Medium settings with the touchpad (my only option as of right now) game to me is unplayable due to the poor graphics, poor fps, terrible UI, and absolutely unusable controls.. I'm starting to have a very serious urge to break things over the heads of the Bethesda staff. I was literally so frustrated that I have now stopped playing, and registered at this forum just to vent. I love Oblivion on my PC and it runs like a dream on high, in fact the graphics seem much higher quality. I have been waiting years for this game and I can't believe Bethesda would do this to us.

My biggest issue is with the controls over the touchpad, which make the game for me virtually unplayable. I can forget about the graphics and fps for now, those are at least playable albeit nowhere near my expectations. I find myself sliding my finger all of the way across the touchpad 7 times to turn around 180 degrees. I have to slide my finger from the bottom of my touchpad all of the way up literally 30 times to look directly upwards, which I figure might be important with all of the dragons around. Upon finding the "look sensitivity" setting I believed for a moment that I was saved, only to find that when I turned it up, the sensitivity was only increased on the x axis... I cannot tell you how FRUSTRATING it is that I cannot scan up and down at the same speed at which I can look from side to side. Also, it seemed like the increased sensitivity was variable, and as I moved along sometimes it would scan short and sometimes it would fly off and I'd be staring at some wall I never meant too. Also the mouse movement in the UI is terrible and choppy looking.

My computer is brand new, my Synaptics Touchpad drivers are up to date and functioning, I even reinstalled them for good measure.

Has anyone else had the same issues? Someone please tell me what's wrong, I was obsessed with oblivion, I've waited years for this, and if these problems are not somehow my fault I can guarantee you it will sever any further interest in Bethesda's products just knowing they could release it like this.

I've tried really hard to play it. I can't play it. It just doesn't work with the touchpad, I mean it works but it's just too frustrating.

And yes I have checked and unchecked the "360" box.

My touchpad works spectacularly with Oblivion tho. And if the above tard comment is about mouse vs. console, yes I do believe that it is Bethesda's responsibility to support both especially because their true fans and modder community play KB/M on the PC.

Changing the settings in Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini have helped somewhat...

My controls are still crap but I'm tweaking it.
