leveling magic or bow is required?

from all the videos ive seen it seems that NO MATTER WHAT, dragons fly during the fights with them. so does that mean that it is going to become a needed ability to have magic or archery? i want my first guy to be an assassin so leveling those skills isnt something i really want to do....

thoughts?

They occasionally land. Later in the game you will acquire Dragon Shouts that allow a melee build to battle dragons more effectively, but you will just have to bear with it for the first couple of dragons I imagine.

In all the videos I have seen the dragons spend more time fighting on the ground than in the air. I think you will be fine. Just get a ranged companion if u are worried about it.

yeah but dragon shouts have LOOOOOOOOONG cooldowns, i believe the fire breath one has a 60 second cooldown at least, plus in the 23 minutes of gameplay video it seemed that the dragon didnt land until it had been hurt badly, guess ill have to wait and see

It would be good to use archery or magic.

You dont have to enhance with perks. I plan on getting all skills to 100 if I can and just use perks to enhance those I like.

So I can use some limited magic spells are my bow to down the beast and then smack him around good with my 2h great sword.
