Crosshair Mod

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 9:46 pm

This is driving me crazy, I've turned off my compass, and the rest of the HUD is gone when not needed, so I get to enjoy beautiful HUD free vistas, but I still have the stupid crosshair right smack in the middle of everything. I would turn it off, but I can't hit faraway targets with my bow.

What I've been doing is going to the menu and turning off the crosshair when I'm exploring, and turning it on for combat.

If only the crosshair only showed up when I had a weapon drawn. Is that a easy mod, could someone be amazing and do it?

There's a mod that removes the stealth crosshair, so it might remove everything

It doesn't I'm afraid. You still have the crosshair and single dot in the middle of the screen in stealth.

Go to C:\Users\\Documents\My Games\Skyrim and open up SkyrimPrefs.ini. Find bCrossHairEnabled=1 and change it to =0, save.

I'd just like the "DETECTED" and "HIDDEN" text removed, it's redundant

Which mod changes the crosshair? And is there a mod that removes all messages and bars from the HUD but let's the crosshair visible for aiming?
If you could combine that with a very small crosshair this would be brilliant.

Personaly I like the immersion of having no tooltips whenever I move over an object or while fighting, but the crosshair is just neccesary for me.

I like the crosshair off, but I DO need it when using a bow, the idea behind the mod would be to have the crosshair invisible when NOT using a weapon, (i.e. walking around town) but have the crosshair visible when a weapon is drawn, (i.e. combat).

Go to C:\Users\\Documents\My Games\Skyrim and open up SkyrimPrefs.ini. Find bCrossHairEnabled=1 and change it to =0, save.

Why not just use the tip of your arrow as your crosshair? That's what I do, and it works very well.

It's also authentic, as that is the technique used by real archers to aim their shots.

Yes, considering they basically took the idea from the Fallout: New Vegas "Immersive HUD" that would auto-hide stuff like the health bar, and the cross-hair, I'm surprised the option isn't there.

With Immersive HUD, you could set the HUD to only show the cross-hair when your weapon was drawn or in combat or when sneaking...

I've been watching the UI thread, and it's still up in the air whether the HUD will be easier or harder to customize this time around, because of the use of Flash
