atioglxx.dll still crashing rage.exe HD5670

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 3:30 am

Seems even worse with final 11.10 drivers than with preview 3. Does anybody know of a fix for this or can anybody from Bethesda say when a fix will appear.

Have ATI given up on it?

For better help can you please post your specs and which .dll driver you are using. You may have 11.10 driver installed, but you don't indicate if you are using the fix or any other workaround.

Hi, I'm using an athlon 64 x2 6000+ with 3gb of RAM on Win7 32bit with a1gb Radeon HD5670 .

I stuck the version of atioglxx.dll from the preview 3 driver in the root of the rage directory in the Steam installation. Crashes nearly every time a new area loads.

First off, Rage has some issues with Dual Cores, I just upgraded mine but before I did the latest preview 3 with no dll seemed to work best for me. But if it is giving you the 1 fps crap than you will need to use the .dll fix. All I can suggest is to try different .dll files from different drivers. Most people seem to be using anywhere from 11.6-11.10. I use the .dll from a preview version of the 11.8 driver myself. It works for me but not for others. Sadly, all of us are going through trial an error. Likely you will have to try each one to see which works best for you. Good luck.
