Does any one here still have a problem with Nvidia cards?

Does any one here still have a problem with Nvidia cards? Rage now runs flawless for me with a 260 gtx. I see most people here that are having a problem with ATI. I used to have so many problems with ATI playing quake wars. Their drivers svcked and every time they upgraded them quake wars would have problems. That was the reason I switched to Nvidia cards.

I hope the Nvidia crew is problem free because I just ordered this from NewEgg to replace my Radeon HD5850 1 gb card.

GIGABYTE Super Overclock Series GV-N570SO-13I GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card.

Just tired of playing this game 10 minutes at a time because of all the crashing.
Steam has me logged on this game at 58 hours but I have only completed about 25% of the game.

Should have the new card tomorrow.

It's not the best one, but it is a nice compromise. I hope!

That video card should be way more the enough to max the game out. I play the game maxed out with a 260 gtx and 800 vram.

Thanks man, good to know!
I was an Nvidia guy for years and years but switched when Radeon came out with the DX11 HD line up.
Going back to Nvidia just feels right at this point.

I am so glad I made the switch away from ATI. Their drivers svck. Especially with open GL games. You have no idea how annoying it was to talk to ATI support only to find out they want me to roll back my drivers because the new drivers broke quake wars. This has happened in multiple driver updates. Also their driver support for Linux is just plan horrible. Simply put we need Nvidea for linux.

I agree completly about the driver situation. All the special driver releases lately and still all the significant problems Rage fans have had to contend with.
I mean it's been over a month now and still no solid game fixes from either ID or Ati.
When Crysis 2 came out their were some items that needed attention, but the game still functioned and the patch came out within days to clear up the smaller details that needed improvement.
This Rage situation is on a scale I have never seen before. It's almost like ID has created an engine that is so entrenched in there own technology that fixing it with current means is simply unthinkable.

I don't think their is anything id can do except wait for ati to fix the drivers. The things id has talked about in patch 2 to are graphical in nature. This and the fact that ati has confirmed its their fault leads me to believe these are problems are simply driver related.

No real problems on my Nvidia cards since the first patch.
I do still sometimes see texture pop-in, where they fade in slowly.
Like when leaving Subway Town in my car.

Nvidia user here. No problem with my ancient 9800 GT.

Game was a stuttering mess before I applied my own altered fix (see my signature if you're curious). Running the game at 2x AA, Texture Cache HIGH, 1024 resolution, Vsync on.

You may be right about that. Ati has tried a few times now to correct the issue their drivers are having in dealing with "Mega Texture" graphics.
The problem is apparently bigger for them to deal with then they are able to correct in a reasonable time frame.

"The big one was reported last Monday after the company confirms personal computers are affected by a bug causing players to see graphic-related problems while playing RAGE. This issue was mitigated when AMD and NVIDIA released a driver update for its video-cards. Later on, the culprit was pointed to the game’s inability to support textures on different type of GPUs; hence, a driver update was needed in order to fix it."

Nvidia card arrived and I have been playing Rage uninterupted for the first time since Oct 4.
Started over from the beginning around 1pm, it's now after 6pm est. Not one freeze, not one blurry frame, not one hiccup.
Saving games whenever I feel like it without fear of crashing. Boy it's been along time since i've been able to do that.
I'm loving life once again! :celebration: It was worth every penny!!
Thanks to quake0 and all who gave feedback on this thread. Learned alot during the past month.

Let this be a lesson for all you good folks out there fighting to get this game to run on AMD. The first card I ever bought was a 3DFX Voodoo back in the quake 2 days. The 2nd card I bought had a Nvidia GPU around the quake 3 days. I have used Nvidia from that point on and I can tell ya, I've never ran into any thing like you guys are with AMD/ATI equipment. Today I run GTX 260 and I'm playing through Rage for my 6th time, and still having fun. To me,,,that's what its all about.

GTX 285 SLI here,

Driver is 280.26 - Win7 32bit

SLI on - fps drops, screen flickering sometimes that requires game restart, game crash after 3hours ! :whistling:

SLI off - stable 60fps (damn faster than SLI), no screen flickering (it was SLI problem), game still crash after 3hours !

Everything else is ok, no texture problems at all, texturing delay is still there but it's damn fast that it's not noticeable

Nvidia GTX460 1GB and the game worked from day one. I can't help feeling that these problems are caused by other software and/or hardware with Rage. How else do you explain it working perfectly for some and not at all for others?
