IDEA: Bethesda, why doesn't the PS3 have access to the conso

This one has been bugging me for a while. With a game of this scope and complexity, glitches are inevitable since there is no way to test every combination of quests and progression. Consequently, there are a army of questions along the lines of "help something is glitched in my game and a quest is b0rked" messages.

Most (all) of the "help something glitched in my game and a quest is b0rked" responses all have the answer of "go into the PC console and type XXXX". Which got me to thinking, why do we not have the same console? It is not like the engine is different, its not like we can't plug in a USB keyboard... so why not enable console access for consoles? That way we can self re-mediate problems like the PC folks do. It wouldn't add complexity for the average console gamer as they would likely never even know it was there.

Hell for all I know it is there and I just don't know how to activate it.

Basically I am trying to appeal to your basic sense of fairness here. We spend lots of money to play these games and having (potentially, in my case) hundreds of hours in and finding we can't progress on a quest due to a glitch is extremely frustrating and waiting weeks for a patch is not a customer-friendly solution. PC gamers can just console their way out of the glitch and move on but those of us that prefer the big screen and controllers are stuck.

I know there will be naysayers that question whether this would lead to rampant cheating, to whom I answer in advance, who cares? It is a single player only game, get over it. Your sense of outrage at someone cheating is nothing compared to the hue and cry of the many many of us that are glitched and have no recourse. The same answer applies to complaints about trophies, etc... Really who cares since it is a single player game. No one really ever goes "oh look you got the level 50 leet archmage trophy, you must be cool". It's only your own mind that makes you think people will think you are cool for getting a trophy, chances are no one ever looks at your trophies.
