Sony Bravia settings help - reducing screen tearing

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 2:33 am

Dear Fellow players,

Obsessive compulsive disorder seriously hampers gaming experiences. After spending 2 weeks obsessing over every detail of my characters' face, I am now trying to figure out optimal settings.
When I play the game there is very minor screen tearing when I cast spells and move around. This annoys me to the point where I cannot enjoy the game.

For those of you with Sony Bravias, would you please be so kind as to share advice on how to manage this screen tearing issue?
Whilst you play the game do you have your TV set to "game" mode or "cinema" mode or graphics mode or what?
Does enabling motionflow help with this?

If any of you have discovered the best settings or have any advice on how to minimize tearing, I would be most grateful.

My sony tv is: KDL40W5500

I have a standard XBOX 360.

Many thanks in advance.

Picture - Standard
Backlight - 7
Contrast - 75

colour - 50
Colour Temp - Normal
Sharpness - 7 (Any higher gives edges, any lower may be a little too soft)
Motion enhancer - Normal
Auto 1(No screen judder on this setting)

ADVANCED SETTINGS
Black corrector - Low ( Gives a bit more depth to picture wihout crushing
blacks)
Advanced contrast - OFF (Makes skin tones pale and gives too much
contrast)

Wow you are a superstar. Thank you. You have given two settings below. Which one is the one that used a professional calibration guy?
