Bromjunaar Sanctuary is just begging for a mod.

Bromjunaar Sanctuary is that room in Labyrinthian where you like go back in time by putting on the Wooden Mask. It's just aching to become a mod. If we had the Creation Kit, it's a very simple change to remove the location check in the script and make the Wooden Mask work from anywhere, making it a good place to store things. But what I really want to see is a full city. Think about how cool that would be: put on the mask from any location and you're transported back in time to explore the whole of Labyrinthian as a living ancient nordic city. We know some dedicated people are going to be making new cities, and I think Labyrinthian is the perfect place to do it. It's an isolated location in the mountains with only two entrances. Stick immobile gates on both entrances and invisible walls on the city walls and you've stopped the player from going to the rest of Skyrim's past, saving a lot of design work, plus building it into such a reclusive spot like Bromjunaar Sanctuary would mean almost no chance of conflicts with other mods using that location. Open the immobile door in Bromjunaar and make the outside two doors real doors that lead to the new city.

Of course, I sort of svck at level design and always have. I've designed scripts that do awesome things in previous Bethesda games, but level design is always something I've lacked a talent for. I just thought I'd post the idea and hopefully someone who can actually make it will like it. At the very least, perhaps someone will modify Bromjunaar to make it a small player home you can access from anywhere using the mask.

EDIT: Looking at UESP, it seems it was also in Arena and was just a dungeon then. I guess perhaps it never was a city. I'd still love to see something done with Bromjunaar. It seems to cool to have a time portal, and yet beyond getting the final dragon priest mask, nothing is done with it. I can't be the only one who thought it was awesome to put on a mask and go back in freaking time.

This idea actually has promise.
I would love to see such a thing happen.

I don't think the labyrinthian was ever a city, but like you said, perhaps you could get it to work elsewhere. See Winterhold before it fell into the ocean.

Keep in mind Arena was only around 18 years before daggerfall, and daggerfall was 10 years before Morrowind, and Morrowind was 6 years before Oblivion, which was 200 years or so before Skyrim, exact timeline is unknown for this one. At the time of Arena the Labyrinthian was already a dungeon/ruin.

The fourth era began at the end of the Oblivion crisis, so Skyrim is about 201 years after the events of Oblivion.

But you're totally right. I had thought the time gap between past games was larger, but it's not. Labyrinthian is much more ancient than the ~235 years it's been since Arena. It very well may have been a city at once point. Its appearance in Skyrim certainly looks like a city ruins.
