Dark Brotherhood crash (SPOILER)

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 8:03 am

Hello fellow Skyrimers
I have a problem with the dark brotherhood questline. I'm using an XBOX360, and yes I tried to install it on the harddrive. The game keeps crash when I'm doing the Dark Brotherhood questline. I just poisonned the ''emperor'' and now I have to get back to the sanctuary. Everything works fine, I kill the legion agents, help Nazir and all. Then the night mother talks to me, I get to her coffin, enter it, then the cutscene when she says ''Sleep'' goes on. Then .... nothing. Game freezes there. The xbox won't answer after that either. Any idea what to do or I have to wait for patches to come in ? I heard many people had problems with this quest too, but no one seem to have the exact same problem. please help, the dark brotherhood needs my help !!

Thanks

Hmmm I did that quest last night and had no problem... But if I recall there is no picture (screen is black) and very faint or no sound at all for a certain amount of time... Are you waiting long enough? You probably are... You have no doubt tried loading old saves and doing it over again? Does that fix the problem? Have you tried removing Skyrim from the hard drive and trying it that way? Have you tried removing Skyrim from the harddrive and simply reinstall?

When the game freezes are you able to open up the X-Box guide?

If these dont work then you may consider restarting... Which to be honest is totally aggravating and annoying to have to do... Best of luck friend.

I had this same problem too, at the exact same moment. It froze when she said sleep, and my Xbox Guide didn't work. I restarted my Xbox and it did the same thing again, but this time i waited to see if it would fix itself, and about 2 minutes later it snapped to and I finished the quest. So, try just giving it a couple minutes and see if that works.

But yes, very frustrating. Bethesda says they are working on stability issues in the next update, so hopefully this includes freezing.

I'll have to try that. Bethesda did throw us a masterpiece, though I'm not buying a bethesda rpg on release date again, happenned to me in fallout time too.

Anyway thanks, I think it was just me not waiting long enough. My xbox guide didn't work and all.

just to throw in my 2 cents for anyone else who has this problem, since it also occurred with my first playthrough;

when it freezes after the Night Mother says "sleep", try taking the battery pack out of your controller. this forces the "Please reconnect controller" prompt and the Start Menu appears, then the game suddenly works again.

I've also experienced similar freezes elsewhere that were fixed by doing this.
