Does the K-Lite codec pack fix the CTDs like Oblivion and Fa

I always had this problem in these games on several PCs I've had over the years and this codec pack always seemed to fix the issue. I was told about it on these forums so I assume it was a known fix, just wondering if it fixes the issues with this game?

try going to control/sound/advanced
and select 24k-44100 setting, i read here that would help with random ctd issues.

Never EVER use a codec pack.

Use VLC/mplayer/media player classic for all your video needs, they do not need any codec pack but play any video. Same for Winamp for audio.

Codec packs can cause all kinds of trouble, stay far away from them.

Edit: Disable anit aliasing in the options (FXAA is fine), set your sound to 24bit 44100 Hz.

Contradicting post... All those players install their core codecs if you lack them. MPC even installs FFD and supports it. KLite installs FFD with MPC. Pick one, you get codecs either way.
I'm using KLite and have had zero issues with it. The CCC codec pack is one that should be avoided and actually causes issues, KLite updates in a much more reliable time frame.
