Well im now level 6 about 10 hours in and still not done much . lag/framerate has now started to get worse with longer pauses in game. As i have said i exchanged mine for a second copy in case of bad batch but it is the same choppy [censored]e. My experience of this is that it has always had framerate problems from the moment you get off the horse and cart at the start of the game.
So pissed off.

Have had this problem from day 1, as well as the game becomes almost completely unplayable whenever I try to access certain areas of the game (primarily anything west of Whiterun runs like complete crap, anything east runs fine for whatever reason) regardless of game time or file size. I, too, exchanged discs and still had the same problems.

How can the game lag so much?
