Apparently the guard who frees the dragon was the most important guard in the hold. The secret to freeing the dragon will die with him I guess. His knowledge of levers and pullies was only rivaled by the Dwemer and asking them is out of the question. Why wouldn't the Jarl or his housecarl be tasked with doing this I don't know? They certainly couldn't die in the previous quest. Maybe it was a favor to the Jarl's sister to get his nephew back on his feet. All I can do is look at his lifeless body with the quest marker above his head. Any fixes for this coming in or any suggestions because I'm close to level 50, got 19 shouts and don't want to start over.
