I Don't Even Know What Is Wrong

I was hoping to get a refund on this game from Steam because after loading up this game... it didn't bloody work. But unfortunately Steam tells me that it is Bethesda's fault and I should get support from them. So basically despite releasing a game so freaking unplayable as hell I'm not going to get my money back. So now I need to figure out how to make this moderately playable.

Like everyone suffering from this problem I have an AMD video card, 6700 series. Regardless to say I meet more than the minimum specs for this game.

I have taken the time to do some research I get the RAGE AMD video card preview update thing.

That did not work.

When I load up the game the first cut sequence goes through smoothly, that's fine.

However after the first sequence the words Eden Project appear on your screen.

Normally they are supposed to pop up pretty fast in a one at a time animation.

I don't get this.

Instead what happens is I get lagged out music as the game slowly attempts to spell the word out one at a time over about a 5 minute period. When you hit the escape button the game.

I can't find this problem ANYWHERE and I've never heard of anyone lagging out on the intro. I'm trying to figure out what exactly is going on here but nothing seems helpful.

Anyone have similar experiences, anyone know of a fix?

Give the AMD 12.1a preview driver a try. The story with the game is that AMD and id Software worked together on making working drivers for the new tech in the game, yet AMD somehow screwed, released old broken drivers and everyone ended up with a game that performed badly.
This one seems to work for most people (works for me aswell.. although I didn't have that bad problems initially.)

Give full system specs. You have a dual core CPU, how much memory?
