Since first encountering the lag, ive been trying to carry on with my game, turning off or resetting my console whenever it gets bad. but now i can only play for around 45 minutes before it becomes unplayable.
I suppose it doesnt help that i have alot of un finished quests in my journal. but then i didnt think that i had to play skyrim in a specific way for it to work. and thats where the problem with the lag lies. bethesda pride themselves on their open world games. go anywhere and do anything. im thinking there needs to be a disclaimer in the future: "go anywhere, do anything, unless playing on the playstation 3!"

I found a somewat fix for this problem, make sure when your using said character file to delete all auto-saves, files associated with it, turn off auto-save features and character menu auctsave then create a new save file which should be smaller, auto-saves tend to build the character file size up a decent bit I'm lvl 47 done main quest line, civil war, thieves guild, dark brotherhood and companions and my file size is only 6790kb. Also be sure the under belly of your ps3 has proper ventilation and the back fan area is not obstructed or dirty.

ah but do you have a house and like to collect items from the game? thanks for the advice have already turned off the autosaves to no avail. The problem only gets worse as my savefile increases in size. im not happy changing my playstyle, ie not collecting things, stop exploring etc. that would defeat the object of an open ended, open world game, having to play in a specific way.

Lucky you, my savefile is at 14mb (almost 15)!!!!
And i cannot even play the game anymore because of the lag, pisses me off
