Skyrim: First Impressions Short Review

]After having the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for almost a week now ( I got it the day after) I have came up with short summary of my first impressions with this game, because with it's immense content and size It IS just a short glimpse of what i yet have to see about the game, and thus it's first impression. I hate listing like this in a review, but it's to make it brief and simple:

Presentation: The hook of the game to capture the player. Flawless.Skyrim has AMAZING presentation, I have hardly touched the Main Quest but the opening sequence caught me in so much immersion. The menus are fast and quick, I'm not crazy about the main menu (not the character menu).

Visuals: Visuals and Presentation go hand in hand. I don't like common reviewers who judge games by graphics, its mostly the mood and tone of the game, and how well the game captures it's own theme. Skyrim feels the way it's suppose to be, the environments have beautiful vistas, the creatures look unique to it's own land, and from micro to macro the visuals are detailed. Although the Xbox version I am not so impressed, but it does not bother me.

Sound: Sound is half the picture, in other words, music and sound effects add to the experience in which you see in the game. Flawless. The sound in Skyrim, Is surprisingly the best or second to best thing in this game, and one of the best soundtracks ever in a video game. There is not one track in the game that I could care less about, they really add to making fighting or just even walking more amazing than it is.

Writing: I have barely touched the main quest, but the delivering of the dialogue is a step above Oblivion. The quests are more exciting. and how the game progresses you is streamline.

Gameplay: So far it is rewarding, fresh, and exciting. There is many things you can do in Skyrim as you might know. It's animation has taken a step further than previous games, and that is more than enough to please an Elder Scrolls fan, just more immersion and detail. It's simply fun.

Issues: Not every game is perfect, but again i hate most common reviewers talking about bugs and little glitches in a review, it's a game, and every game has glitches or bugs. So far I have 2 problems with Skyrim: NPC's repetitive dialogue (Mostly when you just pass by them) and the game is a little too addicting.

Value: It is worth it's retail price, Bethesda seems to have already succeeded in delivering the game they wanted, and i have just only played for hardly one week. It will take a long time for me to actual get a glimpse of this entire game. Thanks Bethesda, this was the first game that was worth all the anticipation and wait.

Closing: I bet you, this will definitely be 2011 Game of the Year .
