Saves on xbox

How do they work? My cousin says they will overwrite your manual saves. So if he is right then that means I cant have more than one character. I find that inconceivable. I'm hoping they will just overwrite your auto saves and leave your manual saves alone.

Im a PS3 user, but i heard that a LOT of people are having the problem of their new character accounts delete their old ones by overwriting their manual saves... this IS NOT supposed to happen, i think it is a common glitch that Skyrim is having , i would wait to get feedback from the Bethesda team before trying to make a new character.

I find that inconceivable.

Anyways, the saves are pretty much the same as Oblivion. For some reason, I have three autosaves though - I think one is loading a new cell (entering/exiting towns/buildings), a character menu autosave (saves when you open your menu after a certain amount of time), and a third one that randomly saves after a period of time.

But no seperate character saves, sadly. You'll have to just pay attention when playing multiple characters, so you don't accidently save over the wrong one.

EDIT: Oh and your autosaves shouldn't save over your manual ones. I haven't had a problem with that yet, but I guess it's a common glitch? - just realized what the OP was asking. :whistling:

Yeah I didn't think it would save over my manual saves, but thought I'd ask anyhow. And yes that was the exact reason i used the word inconceivable.

Something i'm going to do sooner or later is copy the latest save from my character onto an external memory device such as a flash drive. That way if I want to go back to that character all I have to do is load it up from the flash drive. Though it just occurred to me that doing so would require me to select my save device as the flash drive rather than my hdd. I haven't played around with it too much. If anyone wants to bang the dents out of that idea please do. I'd be very interested to see what you find.
