I have playing quite happily until 2 days ago. I rebooted and rage will not load. The screen goes black with only the mouse pointer on it and when I left click the everlasting circle appears (old egg timer).

So I system restored and nothing, same problem.

So then I reinstalled from scratch, and same again.

I can only think the problem has been caused by a steam update but there's nothing on the web to substantiate this. I hace windows 7 with the latest nvidia drivers. Any help appreciated....

Verify integrity of game cache in stream.
