[REQ] Female animations for female orcs

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 1:51 am

I really wanted to play a female orc this time, but it seems they use the whole male animation set - which looks really awkward. However, I couldn't find a way to only change the female orc animations without making every man in Skyrim walk like a girl.

Any ideas?

Not this again.

I find gender specific walk styles to be nonsense. Is there some great anatomic difference that makes females walk differently than males?

Yes, wider hips and a lower center of gravity.

Of course there is  You don't honestly mean to say that you think men and woman walk in exactly the same way?

Probably need the construction kit for that one. Once it's out, it should be a simple task.

Ok, how possibly can you know that it is a simple task? In Oblivion, it wasn't. All men walked like nancy boys, and if you changed anims then women walked like some gorilla bouncers. It took few years until that could be separated.

Hmm... I'm okay with this, actually. I'd rather my ORC didn't walk like a nancy girl, with flapping hands and kicking heels.

You make a good point. I didn't really get into Oblivion modding until after we had good tools for animation modding. The whole animation system has been revamped for this game AFAIK, so it could go either way. I recall hearing that they licensed some third party technology for animations, maybe looking into that would give us some better insight.
