Skyrim initial thoughts

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 6:34 am

I'd just like to say a huge thanks to Bethesda they really have done a brilliant job, I'm only around 2 hours in but i can see this going down as my number 1 game of all time. I enjoyed the first dungeon immensely and the whole crafting system is a lot of fun. Just everything i've experienced so far has been a lot of fun. I mean you get the Iron Armor set from all the trailers really early and it looks fantastic. The first dragon encounter i had was also very epic and when the Greybeards summoned me as i entered Whiterun i could fell a shiver down my spine. On the whole the combat, faces and voice acting has greatly improved and if anyone has any doubts on purchasing rest assured Skyrim is worth the 35 pounds. Just to give an example a dialogue between two guards after i killed the first dragon had me laughing it when along the lines of ' I did'nt hear anything about Tiber Septim killing any dragons' ' dragons were'nt around then, they hav'nt been around in like, forever. Well these are my first thoughts on Skyrim sorry if its been a boring read just wanted to show my appriciation for Bethesda and what a fantastic world they have created. Tolkien would be envious :)

Are you playing on the PC or the Console? I'm not going to flame you either way. The people that are complaining on the forums are primarily PC users but I have so far not seen any positive PC player from the outset.

I bought the PC version, and honestly I've had no issues with it aside from lack of visibility when dragons breath fire on me(which is to be expected). I use Keyboard and Mouse and have had no control issues, no bugs as of yet and I'm around 8 hours into it.

I agree with the OP great job Bethesda freakin epic game, even more so when the first dragon you see scares the bejesus out of you and your wife O.o(if you don't know you soon will)

Great job Bethesda!

I am a PC player and no issues with the game. Runs great, feels great, looks gorgeous.

Bye, I am out to play it.

Im playing on PC, i got up at 5:30 so whether there was a patch before i got on that sorted the issues people are having i don't know. I find the U.I very easy to manage i actually prefer it to having hot keys.

I've played a couple of hours now. Done a dungeon outside of Riverwood and gotten to Whiterun. I had very high expectations of this game, and so far it is most certainly delivering all I wanted and more. I am deeply in love with this game already, and can't wait to delve more into it. It plays great, love the battles (playing with a one-handed weapon and a shield makes you really feel the impact!), and the world and characters are all awesome. Love the accent on the Nords, the crafting, the village, the scenery - everything! (I'm playing on PS3).

So a great thank you, Bethesda, the little I played so far is fantastic! :tes:
