Moving Skyrim Save Files - what consensus have we reached?

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 4:45 pm

Over the last week or so, I've seen numerous topics discussing whether it's possible to move your save file to another PS3, with different answers from almost everyone. It seems that those who've tried have found troubles, and everyone else just has theoretical answers, with no real conclusions.

I'm reaching out to the community for this one. Here's my situation: My girlfriend has a save file on my PS3, under a profile that's in her name. This profile doesn't have PSN. She bought a PS3 of her own recently, and we're wanting to transfer her save file over to her new one (60GB launch PS3 to a 160GB Slim, if that matters).

What are our options? I've moved save files before using a USB drive, but it seems that won't work with Skyrim? She just wants to play her character on her new system, and she has no interest in making a PSN account (if that matters).

One other thing to note: on MY profile, I have a PSN account with PlayStation Plus.

Could anyone offer some help? :brokencomputer:

Well since PlayStation plus has cloud storage I guess you could try uploading your save that way then sign in as you on her ps3 and download the save file from the cloud.

I do not think that would help... he would still have to create an account on her PS3 to be able to DL it... Well, I guess you could do that and then move the file with a USB and delete the profile after. I do not know if you can do that, might be worth a shot.

You have to make a user id on the extra ps3 with the same account info. It has to be registered with the email and everything the same.

Then just copy them between the two as you like. I do it all the time.

Can you not do a data transfer between the two consoles? You just have to link them together with an ethernet cable
