As I'm slaying my way through Skyrim and showing every dragon I come across who's boss, I wondered; How many dragons are in the game? Is there a set programed amount or are they programed to keep popping out at random? I do know that there are only a certain amount of mountain top dragon nests, but what about the one's that hunt you? They seem to just appear out of nowhere.

I think that there is an infinite amount of the unnamed dragons. The game just wouldn't have the thrill if you extincted them.

Yeah, for sure. It must be like the oblivion gates in the last game, where you kept running into them left, right and center.
