Not sure if anything like this was done in Morrowind or Oblivion, but I always thought it would be good if you could come into a tavern, sit down at a table and have the barmaid come up to you and ask what you want to eat. You choose from a list of items. she goes away for about a minute then comes back and places the food and drink on the table in front of you. The plate and utensils would be owned so taking them would amount to stealing, but the food and drink would be free for the taking... After you've eaten your food and consumed the drink, the barmaid would return, collect the plate and utensils and ask if you want anything else.

Spawning the food, utensils and plate would be handled with specific coordinates, tested within the creation kit to make sure they are valid. the barmaid, when clearing the table, would take those items that are closest to a control object.

This idea is just to add a little extra and optional depth to the game. Those who don't want to sit down to a meal can always go to the tavern owner and buy whatever they want and go.

Guess it's not such a cool idea after all...

Oh well...

I amy try my hand at it when the creation kit comes out just to see if I can make it work. I'm sure there are a lot of things that the techniques I have in mind can be applied to. We'll see.

I want to get into mods that add little details to flesh out the world, mostly.

Ummm, NPCs can't even clean up messes on the floor. How can you expect them to figure out how to serve food on your table, let alone cook it for you? hehe

I do know Saadia asks me if I want something but I think it's only because of her quest.

The script is there though !

Someone just has to write the scripts. I'll see if I can figure it out as I learn the Creation Kit.
