I am on the quest where you fight Vern the vampire for the Dark Brotherhood. I have been trying for a long time to get him to infect me with the disease. I am simply letting him hit me over and over and healing through the damage with magic. However I simply am not getting infected. I am playing a Breton mage and I'm not blocking. Has anyone been able to contract vampirism this way? Or does anyone know of an easier way?

I've been trying to find a lair myself...no luck.

South Shriekwind Bastion is directly west of Helgen and Pinewatch. There are vampires in there, but I have yet to be infected.

Fellglow Keep also has vampires in it.

Do we know for a fact whether there's any way to have both Vampirism and Lycantropy?

Im at the point where Id get Lycantropy but Im hoping to contract Poryphyria-North and THEN do the quest in question... would that work?
