Faint volume level

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 6:46 pm

Sound volume level is 100% in game settings, but game sound volume is still faint. I have to crank a volume pretty high from my headphones volume slider to make it ok.

I have a lot of games and this is the only one with this issue (example, Oblivion and Fallout 3/New Vegas don't have any faint sound issues).

I have a Creative Audigy 4 soundcard with latest drivers and Win7 64-bit Premium. I am using headphones.

I hope this issue is fixed for the next patch. Anyone else having similar issue?

I've noticed this too...I had to put on subtitles because I can't hear the speech in the game. Just wanted to let you know your not alone with the issue.

Yeah I've reported this in another thread as well, as have others. One temporary solution that Horatius came up with is to go to your sound settings for your audio output device and to enable Loudness Equalization. It's not a very good solution, but it works until they give us something better.

Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Select your listening device, click properties, and on the Enhancements tab, enable Loudness Equalization.

That's for Windows 7, anyway.

I noticed this too. I'm on XP with a X-Fi soundcard. The strange thing is, the bethesda logo has a normal volume. Maybe because the audio is embedded in the intro-video?
