i have like about 80 hours in and it was starting to lag a lot but i just started noticing that its calming down each time i save the memory is dropping now not going up so its vearly lagging on me

If you travel along terrains that you already have explored....the more saving....you will notice a minor decrease of the size.....

if you explore new terrains the size increases accordingly.....

Tip: Not have too many saves....save a lot.....put the autosave future off....make backup of your saves when you finish the game....

Afaik the amount of saves you have doesn't really matter. Only the size of the save file you're currently playing effects slowdowns.
