Earn som e money in the game to purchase the best equipment you can buy. I would recommend touse light armor and a one-handed weapon for the first 20 hours. you can combine that either with a shield or a spell.

I played for around 12 hours now and recently I obtained a dwarf sword with damage = 20 points. That s fine right now.
