Followers on companion quest + magic = odd behavior

Hi,

I noticed this just now when trying to perform the quest for joining the companions with a follower in tow.

While they were 'testing my strength', I was asked to attack one of their members to 'show them what I had got.' Instead of using a melee weapon, I attacked the companion with magic. He briefly said 'we don't fight with magic here!'. Then my follower ran up to him and started hacking at him with her sword, yelling battle cries. This resulted in the companion repeatedly drawing and sheathing his sword, yelling 'Fight your own battles!' and his red 'enemy' dot on the compass at the top of the screen repeatedly flickering in and out of existence. I tried attacking him myself, but any damage to him seemed to be instantly revoked. I could see him taking damage and then being instantly healed, seemingly when his 'enemy dot' flickered.

My follower would therefore not stop attacking him.

I tried reloading from an old save and the same thing happened when I experimented with using magic again. This may in fact happen with all combat methods - I have only attempted magic.

I thought I should probably report this.
