Vampire Skin color

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 12:35 pm

Okay i started a char that was a Imperial with pale skin. Even had a white tattoo on her cheek that was barley visible and liked her look allot. After becoming a vampire my chars skin went compleatly 360 and now i look like a redguard. You can actually see white pain on her face where it used to be unnoticeable. All the NPCs say i look pale and others on the forum that have become vampires say there skin got pale as well... So why did mine go dark?

Sorry to be an ass, but if it "went 360," you'd still be pale.

Anyway, before I answer.. Are you on PC/XBOX/PS3?

The fact that we're in the PC forum means nothing. People drive the wrong way on the interstate all the time. In other words, people don't pay attention.

The answer to your question as to why your character's skin went from "pale" to "redguard" is not something we can answer. That's one for the devs. My guess, and that's all it can possibly be, is that they decided you can't get "paler" so in order to make a visible change it could only go darker. It'd look pretty silly if you were just a blank white spot with no detail.

If this is the only problem you're having with Skyrim, I'd suggest you just go play the game and enjoy it. ;)

Well i do pay attention....

And who says im not playing?

Either way i would still like to fix this issue. Char aspect is important to me and i like to take screenshot. but not when my char looks like they have been in a oven for waaaay to long. I was only able to get 2 screen shots (that look wonderful) before my chat went strange.

Plus it was my guess that if the complexion issue with vampires still worked on a scale that it went from the lowest to the highest setting and down a but more. Where i would have just set a Max or Minimal setting to the color of the skin. Why they wouldn't is confusing and in my opinion a bug.

It's pretty reasonable to assume that the person is posting in the correct spot. It looks to me like the second poster just wanted to troll and threw in the second question as a pretense.

My character has pale skin also, but I haven't encountered vampirism yet. I wasn't very thrilled with what they did to your character in Oblivion if you became a vampire, so I was actually planning to avoid it.

Other then the skin coloring issue the only thing thats changed is my eyes, They truned red on me but that isent that big of a deal. All together though my char hasnt changed. Oblivion your facial bone structure, skin, and everything would totle freak out. In Skyrim your still preaty much you other then "pale" and red eyes. Witch is greate. but lucky me i found the one game that turned me in to a redguard. im thinking of starting over but if its just going to happen again then well... whats the point?

Sorry, I realize that, but with the flood of people on the forums, people tend to just post..wherever.

Did you try using the showracemenu console command yet? And the eyes are supposed to change, yes.

So i did some tests and i had a save right before i cought the Vampire bug. I went and got some before and after looks of my char and right when they turned in to a vampire (had to wait in a inn for 3 days) everytime i turned my chars skin would trun 5 shades darker each time. I even tried using the command and the showracemenu and made a few different versions of that char with different skin colors (all imperals) and each time she changed in o a vampire the skin would just get darker. I tried it about 10 different ways.

So either i found a really bad bug or imperal vampires have really dark skin

And a tip, never use the showracemenu as a vampire. You loose vampire sight and you cant drink blood. BUT you still become 3rd level vampire and people will kill you on sight.
