Have Souls, Can't Unlock Shouts : V

I have 2 souls saved up and two shouts I've learned that haven't been unlocked. When I try to unlock them, it says I need dragon souls? I have dragon souls. What's the deal? How do I unlock?

I have exactly the same problem. I have one soul, and I cannot unlock 'Ilz'! Hopefully this bug will be fixed.

Are you sure you're clicking the right button?

R on PC as stated before, rather than just clicking on the shout.
(only familiar with PCs, so if you're on a console I'm clueless.)

llol its not bug...

after u have soul u need to learn the languge of the dragon...and via verse
after u learn the languge of the dragon u need to absord a dragon soul.

Have you killed any dragons yet?

To get the first shout, you need to get it from Bleak Falls Barrow, and kill the first dragon in the main quest. Then you can equip it and use it with R2/RB or whatever it is on the PC.

I have the word 'Ilz' locked, I also have 1 Dragon soul. When I try to unlock it it says 'You need souls to unlock shouts'. This is on the ps3 ver. btw.

Try pressing R if on Pc...

That was it! Thank you! As was said, hover the mouse over the Shout to be unlocked and press R. After turning off the GamePad support in the options the mouse seems to do more. I'm getting the hang of the PC controls. Not ideally laid out, but oh well.

i am not sure...
its or u need to kill a random dragon , the first u see..(not so sure about this one)
or to kill an a specific dragon

I have done both those things and still nothing... Maybe its a different button, but I have a terrible feeling I may never be able to shout!

Huh... I didn't have that problem on ps3..
Are you doing it the right way?

On xbox its x so ps3 should be square.. I had the same bit of confusion for a bit. In the bottom left it should show the button used to unlock
