How to change in-game music or add your own tracks?

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 6:13 pm

Something felt missing while playing this game and I figured out what it was.
Music.

I wanted to add Heros 3 menu song to Skyrims.
Jeremy soules Guildwars OST to in game.
Maybe some Stronghold 1 OST as well.

Anyone figure out a way on how to do this yet?

Sound folder. You might have to change the names of the music you want to match the music file names in the game for it to play. Just a guess. I had to do that with Oblivion.

Edit: Whoa, it looks like they encrypted it this time and you can't access it???

They haven't encrypted it. It uses XBOX XWM-Files instead of MP3s, and the game has regional music just like Fallout.

To add new songs (i.e. not replacing the old ones) you need to create a new "Media Set" with the song and add it to the "Media Location Controller" of each region where the song should play.

So we need an ESP to add new music. We might be able to edit the Skyrim media sets using FOMM/TESsnip and the Fallout3-GECK. If that doesn't work we need to wait for the CK

That svcks. I loved how you could just drop an MP3 into the relative folder in Morrowind. Another strike against cross platform gaming.

BUMP because this is one of the best things about PC gaming...and i was sorely disappointed this happened in NV and now in Skyrim. I love to create my own interactive cinematic experience with a custom soundtrack. My Oblivion had a 1GB music folder with the perfect dramatic music for every situation. Sigh. The old days...

Actually, maybe access to the music files aren't locked, just done differently than previous games. Haven't read everything in this posting yet, however. Sounds confusing.
