I am only a few hours into Skyrim, and I have noticed two major problems: Each time I run outside Whiterun and try to head toward High Hrothgar or anywhere in that direction, the game crashes to the desktop. And interior cells sometimes feature characters with clothes on, but missing body parts. Everything else seems fine so far. Any ideas? I am reluctant to change the audio setting mentioned on the forum, but I will do so if it's a permanent solution to the crashing. This is quite frustrating. Thanks!

Edit: The fix mentions that I should change my audio setting to: "24 bit, 44100Hz (Studio Quality) in the drop down menu". However, my only option that is similar is "24 bit, 44100Hz (CD Quality)".

You might also try setting the skyrim.exe to run as admin and set compatibility to Vista SP2.
