Finding the Thieves Guild : V

I know where their headquarters are because of the internet, but there has been no mention of the thieves guild in game yet... or how I'd know to go to this Riften town or whatever it was called.

Is it mentioned anywhere? Inn rumours? Anything? Or does a quest just fall into your lap if you happen to go to this town (which I haven't found yet)

When you go to the town you mentioned, it's hard NOT to join the guild. Don't worry

It's actually mentioned a lot in game about Riften being the home of the thieves guild and like Emz said, it's a fairly easy guild to just drop into hehe.

If you are a thief, they will find you, not the other way around. Anyways, they're no legend or anything like that as in Oblivion, they're pretty well known.

I've stolen so much stuff (haven't been caught though) and have not had anyone find me after 11 hours of playing

Why I use these tags and sometimes I don't is beyond me... Anyways, go to Riften, walk to the middle of town and you'll be stopped to do a mission. Do it (or fail it) and you're invited to the guild.
