Game Freezes After I Loot Things

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 9:16 am

As the title says, I've been incredibly frustrated by this problem. Almost every time I pick things up from a dead body, or from chests etc. the game is frozen, and my character won't move. A few times I have just tried hitting every key and eventually I unfreeze, but other times I am stuck, frozen, for 15-20 minutes or more. I cant save, or find any way out. I just want to be able to keep playing the game.

Please tell me someone knows the answer to this? And thanks for any help.

I would have included the specs of my system if they were relevant. I still took the time to provide them below.

Now I would appreciate any help with my issue. Thanks.

You've covered one thing I might have suggested, but couldn't, before knowing you had a Radeon. Instead of the very latest graphics driver, you might go the other way, to the one a couple of months ago. The Catalyst numbers are 11-10 for October 2011, 11-9 for September 2011, 11-8 for August. If you've seen both 11-9 and 11-10 not working in Skyrim, try 11-8.

Thanks for your help. I'll give that a try, but these drivers, direct from MSI have been in place for many months.

Ignore MSI. They don't get the upgrades often enough. Go direct to AMD.

Have tried that last two drivers with no change. But then, based on what I am seeing in the Skyrim PC forums, nearly everyone with the pc version is having issues. What an incredible disappointment.
