Discerning the Transmundane?

Hey guys, so I got up to the quest Discerning the Transmundane and right no I am completely stumped. I am up to the part where I put the blank lexicon into the pedistal but what do I do now? Did I do something wrong?

I just pressed the right sided buttons till the left ones showed up :P
