"Stores Invested in"?

Okay, so I was just now checking out my General Stats, more like glancing it over, when I noticed something.

Stores invested in.

What the hell? How do you do that? How do you invest into a store, I been playing the game for over 70 hours before finding out about this and not once was I even given a hint I could invest in a store and, I assume, get some steady money in return. And believe me, with ALL of the merchands having only 1200 gold max, I been to several stores to sell off my loot.

I remember something similar being with Oblivion, either it also showed up in the general stats or they at Bethesda said you could invest/buy stores, but then you couldnt once the game came out for some reason.

Is the same thing here? It saying you apparantly can invest into a store and yet cant do it?

You need the speech perk "investor" to invest in stores, it gives them more gold to barter with. Also for the record you can in oblivion too, it's the level 75 mercantile perk.

I don't know how many hours I've played - I'm almost level 13 - but I've only looked at most perks, not all, and until yesterday I hadn't even checked out perks in skills I wasn't concentrating on.

So I've unlocked the perk to invest in stores but have not been able to find out how. Is it an option in conversation? Or do you have to spend so much money with that particular merchant before its an option? Whats the trick?
