This being my first post on the Bethesda forums (on a Thanksgiving weekend no less), I just wanna say a big THANK YOU to the Bethesda team for their amazing games over the years. No one else makes open world games like you guys! Sadly, the scope of your games often lead to bugs ranging from amusing to gamebreaking. The one I encountered is somewhere in the middle.

I visited the Skyborn Alter twice for a quest and each time I learned a new Frost Breath shout (It probably happened so because I fast traveled out as soon as I learned the shout and then fast traveled back). This meant I already learned the full Frost Breath shout without visiting Folgunther, and as a result the world wall there doesn't activate. The downside of this is that Arngeir doesn't point me towards the next word of power location now. And the mysterious 'Letter from a Friend' quests have also come to a dead stop since both of them are pointing me to Folgunther.

I'm on the Xbox 360 so I can't unlearn the shout through console commands. Is there any other way to keep these Word Power quests going because I was interested in learning all of them (without having to refer constantly to a Wikia).

I don't get it. You can't learn two shouts at one wall. That's not how the coding for it works; I think you're mistaken as to how you got the second shout.

But I had the full shout before entering Folgunther and I do remember going to Skyborn Alter twice and learning a word each time. The only explanation I can think of is the code that checks off a Word Wall as learned/cleared must have bugged out on Skyborn Alter, giving the unintentional/additional 3rd word of the shout.

I got the full three words of a shout at one wall at the same time.. throw voice i think it was

I found this aswell...had to fight a dragon and a priest at this wall.

On a side note: I was fighting a dragon near the hot spring pit section....after slaying this dragon, the corpse wouldn't vaporize and my character didn't absorb it's soul.
Has anyone come across this? is it a glitch?
