I loaded up the game without downloading the patch first and ran around examining things in Whiterun. Then downloaded the patch and could not tell a difference graphically. If there is a change, it was not noticeable. I never experienced any of the terrible lag that others had been reporting, so I cannot say if the patch fixed any lag issues.

Then I'll record the first few towns you see.

All scripted, in it's own independent cell. I never once saw a texture stream before my eyes on the intro but saw plenty of that on the actual game. It's not the same and it also depends on what they changed. All this "post proof" BS is garbage anyway, are we seriously having the same conversation we had on the first days after release? Why would people lie about this?

I cannot speak for how Skyrim is coded as I was not involved, but I can tell you that most scripted gameplay is still using the "world" shadow generator. It is reading at what point the light is cast tied into the game time, this casting shadows real time as they would in game. I assumed you meant it would not prove anything because you thought it was cinematic, which would have made sense.

The opening cinematic is the same, and if the patch did cause a texture change (for everyone)... you would see it - in the first town, in the opening sequence.

If the graphics were downgraded at all, good thing I'm playing on an SD TV. I won't be able to notice any negative change since the res is bad anyways.

I think the game runs and looks smoother. It's smoothed out all around. It seems they took out the jagged edges and for me I like that.

I know for sure my game actually looks much better. Eveything always looked a little hazy and now it's solid. I just wish the theives guild bug was fixed.

Well you have to be looking for a graphic down grade... I do not notice anything down graded, but hell I am an old man, I used to play old school ssi D&D games, and I used to play dungeon master and stuff, balders gate etc. etc. so this game looks no different and in my opinion looks just fine...

its a damn video game for cripes sake...

I just don't get it...

No one in my house has ever whined about this game.. Ever.. My kid plays the game,my old lady plays the game, and I do, I only complained when I noticed some fps chafing that should not be happening, and as far as I can see, and not all can see it with the naked eye, the chafing is fixed... PERIOD

its fixed...

on ps3 that is, at least in my house, I feel sorry for you other folks who are still unsatisfied, I would recommend trading the game in, and moving on... Its regretable, because damn my family is having fun with this game... My wife has fallen in love with the game..

If lowering graphics fixes the lag issue (as is with PC gaming) then the game would have run like [censored] from the start. Use your brains people...
