This Patch has done what we wanted

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 12:15 pm

Please detail your current problems in top 5 order, I am very keen to see them
You're a smart little one, aren't you?

1. Lag/frame rate drops which make Markath, Whiterun, most other major towns near impossible to work through.
2. Dragon textures not loading
3. Arrows stuck in my character (something Bethesda said was fixed in the patch)
4. Inability to continue main quest after trying to get the books about the Elder Scroll in the college of Winterhold; he never puts the books on the table and they're not in his inventory
5. Arrow sheathe in inventory screen appearing to be in a black frame box.

I can keep going if you like.

cause you know that you've heard it before!
and you feel that this moment in time is surreal!
cause you know when you feel...deja-vu!

Feel like I've been here before!

Feel like i've been here before!

Feel like i've been here before!

Feel like i've been here before!

sigh...
Is that meant to mean something we all get, or just you?

Well prob No1 is now fixed for me. I was one of the worst affected seeing I had a whole 10 days to play it because I was off work from the 11/11/11 and now that is 98 percent fixed . 2 to 5 i can live (til next less important patch)with compared to prob 1 at its worst

If you still getting problem No1 then I dont really get how that has happened

*has done what you wanted.

Unfortunately this isn't the case for everybody. I don't think this post was really necessary as it is not about a bug or issue you're having with the game.
It is still very much related to the issues. I sure as heck would not mind knowing that it solved his issues.
It is very much good news that it has solved issues for some people. The reason i have been checking this forum lately, was to find out exactly if it did improve things.
Seems like some people here want the game to be broken or cant stand hearing that it has at least improved things for some.

I registered today just to post here that the patch has not fixed the lag/freezing or frame rate issues on the PS3.
I had about 9.5mb save file and about 100 hours play. The patch took it back by about 300k lower. After patch I have played quite a few hours and re-saved and re-loaded.
The slowdown I had (post patch) in Whiterun was the worst I have ever had. It was like a slideshow of images.
All I think what may have been done is an increase in time before those symptoms occur.
It's like a car tyre puncture being repaired by just pumping more air into it, ultimately it's still going to leak out and make you crash.
I had the patience to wait for this patch. But now I am going to attempt to get a refund from Amazon and report it as not fit for purpose.
I would rather have £40 back in my bank account.
The patch was not a fix it was a lot of hot air. (which soon puffed out )

He was saying it's important for people to say the issues are fixed because otherwise the devs wouldn't know.

Skyrim runs perfectly for me now. No lag at all in any of the major cities, wilderness, or dungeons. The little things like problems with player houses seem like such trivial matters now. I'm sure they'll be patched soon enough. Lag was enemy No. 1 for me, and it's completely gone now.

That wasn't what I was getting at, I didn't mind the post, but I was giving advice. To alot of people it could come across as gloating. I'm not here to stir the proverbial soup.

It will be better for some people, but I think if you play for long periods without quitting like I do, it gets as bad as it ever did.

I'm not having problems as of yet, so at the very least it has improved. Don't be so butthurt that the patch worked for him and not for you... He's better off than the most of us so let him be.

"Letting it be" does not solve the issue.

The patch did nothing but cause more problems for many of us that still have the issue. If you aren't having problems, don't post in the tech support forum.

I wonder if we delete all the saves and start a new char if that would help, problem is that I'm not sure if anyone can be bothered trying...

Sorry wasn't gonna comment again today but had to add this just Mage light across canyon about 3 to 400 meters across no lag all the way across and the light stuck to the cliff on other side, not seen that before that distance, OK this sort of thing should go on other forum pages but this is a major tech issue resolved post for ref purposes
