Hi all i dont get the CTD desktop very often although i think i have figured out what might be causing it.

its a skyrim to steam issue i.e communication. By that i mean if you have a connection which is not reaching the destination in a certain time frame it will CTD. i was playing for 5 hours earlier. my net connection cut out and bam ctd. i realised that when running skyrim that it utilised my internet connection at the same pace though out the gaming session. So what i did to attempt to remedy is i play the game in offline mode.

If you have a broadband connection you might need to terminate it as i dont know how to turn steam on offline mode when your connection is running. give it a try.

another thing you can do to limit the CTD if you are online with steam is choosing a server which has the lowest ping. my isp has a dedicated steam server so im usually fine.

give it a go and post if your results
