I am playing the Shalidors Insight Quest. It is something you get from the librarian,Urag gro-Shub, at The College of Winterhold. I have having trouble with the quest. After pursuing the map marker to Wolfskull Cave, I proceeded to follow it to the destination you see here:

It is in the snow covered room that has a huge hole in the middle of it. It looks like this:

When I go to the destination seen in the map this is what I come to:

I know this is a bug, but what I would like to know is how to remedy this bug. I am not far along in the game and to revert back to a previous save won't be an issue, I would just like to finish this quest and move on, if possible. Have you finished this quest? are you playing this quest and can walk me through the proper way to do this quest?

BUMP. this is getting lost in the texture issues.

I am playing on the Xbox 360 and am having the same issue with the item not being there. I am so far beyond where I picked up that quest that I would probably have to go back 25ish levels is there any fix for this?

Exactly the same problem with me. Playing the PC version.

I'm having the same problem. I've been to this cave before though for another quest. So, I may have grabbed it then. I was thinking if that was the case I may have dropped it to free up weight but then thought that if its a quest item it wont let me drop it. The marker is pointing to a spot though and its not there. I looked all over and its not there.
