Side quest at the College of Winterhold : V

So, I've been trying to finish all the quest in Winterhold but I'm stuck with this one side quest at the College of Winterhold where you have to "Cleanse the focal points of magical energies around the college" (3 of them) . I know I'm missing something but it has been bugging me for hours now!

Anyone done this quest yet???

Just activate the 3 "wells" around the colledge..
If you don't know what I mean activate the quest in your compass, it will show you..

Hmm... I haven't done that O_O Who do you get the quest from?
I am still on that orb/Psijic quest

I gotta go down in the middens... any tips btw?

I went to every well and it actually won't let me activate them (press "e")... I thought maybe I had to do it in a certain order but it doesn't let me at all! Do I need an item to activate them or something?

You have to wear the gloves you got from the quest giver..
