No Quest Bug Fixes?

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 7:47 am

It's pretty disappointing that the new update that goes live Wed. won't fix the MANY bugs and glitches affecting everything from main quest progression, side quest progression, becoming a Thane, buying a house, etc.

I understand that those issues are much more complex than technical issues since any single line of code could contradict any other lines of code and it's a complicated, time consuming process, but I am disappointed nonetheless, and I'm not the only one.

Bethesda, if you guys are scanning your forums and if you are reading this, PLEASE give us an ETA for the next update that will fix the various quest bugs/glitches, even if it takes a while.

Also, confirmation of awareness of quest breaking bugs/glitches would be GREATLY appreciated.

I agree. My Civil War quest line is glitched, preventing me from continuing at all. I'm more than upset

Yea the first quest for the Thieves Guild glitched for me so it'd be pretty disappointing if that wasn't fixed soon. right now I'm stuck with a whole bunch of stolen goods I can't sell because I can't sell to the fences.

Also, lag is not specific to the PS3 and does affect the 360 as well after significant playtime and texture streaming issues are not specific to installed games only as I experience them nearly 100% of the time playing from disk (particularly I cannot get all my equipment to show in high-rez at the same time. There is always one low rez piece that usually corrects for a time if I drop it and pick it back up.).

So this patch will not fix the problem regarding the guards in Markarth? I can't complete a bunch of missions beacuse of this. How long do I have to wait for a patch that lets me finish the game? I will trade in my copy of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim if Bethesda don't fix this really soon. It's really frustrating.

That 'll show 'em!!

On a more serious note: And as mentioned by me in other threads.. Bethesda should manage these problems better from a PR and customer service standpoint.
A) Acknowledge there are still problems, explain why you prioritized these issues, use these boards to list issues which they are still working on. (or issue press statements when the patch goes live..)
B ) Indicate when they expect these problems are probably going to be fixed.
C) If the mechanics are known why certain bugs occur.. give tips to avoid 'em. (most errors seem to be because of the radiant placement of quest objects and/or NPC's, so probably scripting issues within the engine.. They must know how it is caused, and if so.. what can prevent them.)

Luckily I had only issues with minor quests and some misc quests.. But the fans/ customers who encounter major (or even main) questline breaking bugs should at least be taken in account. For them the game can be as unplayable as PS 3 users getting lag.
