Every time I have used an Arcane Enchanter (multiple attempts at the Blue Palace and at the Hall of Countanence) it works fine until I am finished. At that point, it takes me out of the enchanter creator and leaves me standing there. My keyboard is then almost completely dead. WASD do nothing, nor does Tab, nor any other game related keys. I can mouse around my view and, for some reason, even alt-tab in and out of the game. But no other keys work.

Each time, I have eventually alt-tabbed out and shut down the game from the Task Manager.

I am at a loss, and haven't seen the bug reported elsewhere.

I have experienced this as well and found a solution, you must not just tab out of the arcane enchanter when you are done, go through all the steps and finaly click on exit with the mouse. That always fixes it for me.
