I somehow had the whole town attacking me and I ended up killing Alvor and running away (doing a bunch of other exploring) I came back to riverwood everyone seems to be fine expect Alvor is still dead. How can I progress or fix this issue. I do not want to load a save before this happened b/c I have vested a few hours into the game already

Any Help would be amazing


EDIT: I was walking around riverwood and found alvors body still laying there. This is hours of game play later. I tried turning him into a zombie and it said his body was too powerful for that. And ideas?

Try talking to his wife?

Restart if its an awesome . Since its right at the beginning you'd be done in the time it takes to wait for ways in the forum.

You CAN progress without Alvor or the game wouldn't have let you kill him. He is not a main character for anything either, I talked to him once and sold some stuff and that's it. If it's that much of a problem for you then just make a new character.

Do you think so? Ive walked around and explored and have side quests but its like without alvor there is no main quest. I really want to keep playing but I dont want to invest even more time if I cant progress through the story

honestly, the games just punishing you for siding with the legion

Ah the good ol' days of Morrowind. When "The Thread of Fate Has Been Severed..." was the quickest way to know you'd screwed something up royally.

I remember in a video that stated if u killed a quest giver, then another family member could give u the quest. Some repentance may be needed.

Do you know Alvors wifes name. I may have killed her too

perhaps if you go to whiterun and talk to the jarl the main story line might continue
that is basically the next point in it and also the only reason to visit Alvor

its worth a try. Where is Jarl in whiterun? Im in whiterun now

he is in the castle thing at the top of the hill, sitting on the throne
when I walked in this woman came up to me with her sword drawn asking what I was doing there
she took me to him (that's probably what's supposed to happen I guess)

ow and it's the jarl btw
it's a title not his name

EDIT: I Went to whiterun and talked w Jarl. The game immediately said quest before the storm COMPLETED!!! So looks like all is ok with the world. I can go back to killing everyone again Thank you skyrim community for your help
