After finishing Quest a chance arrangement with Brynjolfs scheme in Riften. i started the Taking care of business quest.. for Thieves guild. Well i went and quested else where after finishing the arrangement quest.. and came back. to Brynjolfs to finish the others.. Well the problem is Brynjolf is still in the same spot where he did his scheme.. he said to meet him in Ragged flagon well he wont leave the spot and all the npc shop keepers that are around the square wont work. they are standing around also in the same place of the Quest a chance arrangement ... I hope you can fix this bug. be i dont want to start over being soo far into the game. thank you.

the same thing is happening to me.. I have beaten the main campaign also so I cant restart lol

I also have this bug, but Brynjolf did appear in the Red Flagon for me. It's just that he (in his TG gear) and all the NPCs in the market are standing around. But I can still buy/sell from Brand-Shei and turn in the quest to Madesi so it's not a total game breaker. Just eliminates 3 possible merchants (Madesi, Grelka and Marise) from Riften.

Thieves guild is messed up on mine the guy wont leave his stall and meet in the bar. this is the second quest

i cant turn in quest or anything he just stands there with all the people around him

The same thing is happening to me.

Brynjoff is in the Ragged Flagon for me, but not where the quest marker shows he should be. My objective reads to meet him there, but talking to him only lets me give him Bersi's payment. I essentially can't play the Thieves guild at all on this character. *sigh*

he won't leave the stall for me either

I got as far as where I had to talk to a certain guy after following Brynjoff, but it says the person is busy and I can't talk to him or anything.

Hopefully bethesda will see this

I have this same glitch. I finished the first quest, met brynjolm in the sewers. Went to the three people to collect the money from. I did 2 of the 3 optional quests and finished the quest. When I talk to Brynjolm, as he is standing in the stall, he keeps saying it isn't too much further, etc ... as the quest is started, but he will not move from the stall. After I talk to him, he says his line, waits a couple seconds, and keeps repeating "You need to see this". He won't move on to the next quest. This, from what I have read, is fortunately the first glitch I have run into. Unfortunately, I was working on the achievement to restore the guild and now cannot complete it. I hope Bethesda will fix this in their next patch.

*Edit* Update: After brinjolm wouldn't move, I went onto other quests. Whenever I would come back into town, I would check him. Eventually he unglitched and started moving on. No more issues for me with this quest.

Same thing is happening to me too, he doesnt leave his stall and is surrounded by the merchants

Same...he stays at his stall permanently.

I'm having the same problem too, All he does is stand there repeating his distraction with medesi and grelka standing in the same position infront of him.

Yeah, I have the same glitch. So I guess I can't do the Thieves Guild on this character...


I read somewhere that this glitch is caused by starting "A Chance Arrangement" at night.

I'm also stuck because of this glitch.
