So I heard the horror stories of the new patch......my game has been running flawlessly.... I dont want to download the patch..... if I want to play the game and not download the new patch do i have to disconnect from live? when I clear the cache the game automatically installs the latest patch correct? is there a way to actually play the game with the internet turned on and only install the first patch?

I think a way around it would be, unplug your xbox from the internet, run the game, and play for a bit then plug in your ethernet cord. not sure if it'll work but ima try.

Well it's a singleplayer game I could just not play with the internet plugged in, but I like chattin with friends.

Just reject the patch. You will have to log out of Live, but once you exit the game you will be logged back in. You will still get achievements.
