Mods through Steam: It's a [censored] JOKE or WHAT?!

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 10:36 am

I've read the post about the Creation Kit...seeing that it will be released in January (mmmh...it's a bit farther than game release or what?) was a hard hit,
seeing that you've locked the comments in the blog after filtering [censored] really devoted fan comments...well...just explain the kind of developers we're dealing with...you
want only fools who take crap and say it's gold!

...but the greatest news is...

...WHAT??

...MODS THROUGH STEAM???!!

...BUT WHO'S THE [censored] MORONIC IDIOT WHO HAD THIS [censored] IDEA??!!

YOUR FORUMS ARE FULL OF PEOPLE TELLING YOU WHAT CRAP IS STEAM AND NOW YOU WANT TO FORCE MODDING THROUGH THAT [censored]LOAD OF SOFTWARE???!!

I really hope you'll have enough neurons to not force that down of the throat of your customers (like you did with the game itself by forcing us to use that CRAP to use your game)...else I'd definitely find an explaination about why you take two weeks to make a patch to have dragons fly backwards!!!

Then don't publish your mods through Steam?

They're not FORCING us to use the Workshop. But yeah, the system will have it's negative sides, most mods that change the game to a more serious extend can't be installed automatically. This will confuse new people, who think wrongly that the Workshop will handle everything for them. When that fails, they'll go stalk us mod developers screaming that our mods break their game.

.

I never understood why on earth steam was implemented in the first place. I mean, we're all big people who can read when patches come out and install them if we please.

This Workshop integration is awesome and I can't wait to see it.

btw the forums are full of people blaming Steam on what Bethesda coded and submitted for distribution, no idea what you're talking about.

Well, at least you're yelling at the right people now, I think. Even if for all the wrong reasons.

So, what do you guys think this whole Steam mod thing is all about?
They do it out of the goodness of their hearts to help newbies? Not a
chance. There's something is going on.

I think it's great. Bethesda is working with Valve to provide us another place for our mods. I personally think this whole situation has been blown out of proportion by a community consisting mostly of manchildren though.

As others have pointed out, you can download and install mods from other websites.

If you want to discuss Steam workshop further, feel free to comment in the existing topic: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1300564-its-been-announced-modders-rejoice/
