Hello, I've been loving Skyrim and it works great but since last night, whenever I click play on Skyrim on steam, it launches but then the screen just stays black and freezes and refuses to go into the main menu. I think it has something to do with when I was trying to mod the game. The instructions for installing the mod told me to go into the texture data folder to delete some textures and replace them with the textures in the mod. I never did touch any of the textures and didn't delete or move them, I was just scrolling down the long list of them looking for the right ones. I eventually just stopped trying and went back to Skyrim when the problem happened. I'm not sure why though, I didn't touch the textures or any files at all, I just looked at them.

Can someone help I really want to play now >_>

In Steam, right click on the Skyrim listing and go into Properties. Then tell it to check the Verify Game Cache. Steam will then scan the game files and download any that appear to be corrupted or missing.

See if that helps.

This is a hazard of trying to mod your game. Worst case scenario, you may have to uninstall the game and reinstall it if Steam can't fix whatever is wrong.
